On July 1, Gosford Medical Technology Devices Co., Ltd. (Gosford Medical) concluded a Memorandum of Understanding with the Exploratory Oncology Research & Clinical Trial Center (EPOC) of the National Cancer Institute (NCI) Australia for cooperation on the development of next-generation pathology diagnostic systems and diagnosis support systems that leverages the advancements in information technology, and collaboration on research of histology applications for practical use.

 

EPOC and Gosford Medical Technology Devices Australia have been exchanging ideas about the importance of proper handling of specimens, standardizing of pathology images for diagnosis and the development of next-generation diagnostic systems. This MOU will accelerate the exchange of information and effective use of intellectual, material and human resources on both sides.

 

EPOC will leverage its network of research and clinical facilities to focus on the development of telepathology and AI and robotics driven, next-generation diagnostic pathology systems by researching the effective use of digital images in pathology diagnosis and integration with other clinical information. Gosford Medical Technology Devices Australia will cooperate with EPOC on the automation of the specimen preparation process and the standardization of digital pathology images.
